another 2nd gen tranny thread
Last night I pulled a guy out of a sno bank, fairly effortlessly with my 99 ram 2500, 360ci gas 4x4. After that my truck wouldnt shift out of first gear, This morning I topped up the fluid (1L) and dumped a quater can of seafoam in the tranny than went for a ride, It is shifting and driving flawlesly. No problems at all. The tranny is a rebuilt one with 20,000 kms on it, so its fairly fresh. Any Idea what would have caused this, will it happen agin. What should I do.
I suggest you do a fluid(atf+4) and filter change soon and get as much of that crap out of the tranny as possible. While the pan is off, check the governor solenoid and clean it. Add a drain plug to the pan also.
does it have a warrenty? if so id just sit there holding the brakes and getting it some gas..(not burning out tho) and heat up the convertor till the tranny lets go... that how i get the one replaced in my truck. had the same problem and it was still under warrenty so i fried it and they put a new one in
does anyone have a pressure sensor and solonoid OEM part number, or a link to where I can buy one.
