Low compression means low power output. Just another thing to check.

The ABS and Brake lites being on is probably related more to the rear wheel speed sensor. Do you have 4wal, or Rwal?

HeyYou, I was just playing.

I changed that gasket today and in the process I changed the fuel injector o-rings because they were a little, well, rotted. My engine sounds beautiful.

I think I may have found my problem though to my truck not having power. When I was reinstalling my throttle body I noticed the tranny kickdown cable had a hell of amount of slack in it. I checked on top of the tranny to see what was going on and well it wasnt connected to the bracket and the bracket wasnt connected to the tranny. My question is now, how does it go so I can hook it back up?

Default TV/ Kickdown Cable

I noticed after rebuilding my motor that myt tv cable was not connected to the bracket and the bracket was not connected to the tranny. This is most likely the reason I had no get up and go.

The problem I have is that my Haynes repair manula does not show or specify how this bracket connects back to the tranny. I can see how the cable connects to the bracket but not the bracket to tranny.

Does anyone have any clue on how I can do this or do I have to take it to a transmission shop to have everything set?

Let me see if I can find a photo from my rebuild..

It has a D shaped hole in bracket. Only one way it can go on.

Disconnect the 8 pin connector on the drivers side of the trans. Go for a ride. Bear in mind, you will have ZERO automatic functions on the trans. You will HAVE to shift manually. (be careful.... no hitting reverse at 45... that would be bad.) If it drives better, then the tv cable me be your problem.

Other alternative is to fix it, so things are working 'as they should'.... and see if it doesn't improve it's attitude any.

Even with no TV function, it will just shift WAY to early.... that might give the impression of being down on power.
