THe only scanner for the 1995 would be either a DRB2 or DRB3 with a super card. Thats because the truck is not an OBD vehicle. The connect to plug into is under the hood near the bulkhead/firewall.

on rigs like that one, it's my figuring that you can't trust electronics all the time, or rely on them to tell you where a problem is.. they may get you close, sometimes, or they may cause a diversion that keeps you chasing your tail for weeks..

anyway...

I'm thinking there is a hard failure downwind of any sensor, and in that o/d unit.. something like a worn hard part, or a loss of tension on the main spring....

hell... take your pick:

even the later years of the 46/47/48RE's aren't exactly the 'smartest' transmission around.. I've personally seen failures on those that were never reported to the PCM and kick a CEL..

Well I believe a 95 has a hydro controled OD (46RH) and the 96+ has the electronic 46RE so that may explain a few things.....
and again I had no "check ENGINE" light on my 96 when my governor pressure solenoid went but when I hooked up my handy dandy $15 "ELM327" bluetooth code reader low and behold I had 2 codes on my "Torque" software screen of my android phone both tranny governor pressure related codes...

O/D and TCC are electronically controlled on all the 46R? transmissions. Governor is mechanical on 95 and older, electronic on 96 and up.
