1996 ram 2500 lifting help
Hey guys, I've been looking all over and i'm at a stand still here. I've got a 1996 Ram 2500 2WD and i'm wanting to lift it, BAD. but i can only do suspension because i've got a goose neck hitch and a fifth wheel, so a body lift is out (unless you all know some way I can, if so PLEASE let me know) and the only thing left i've found is front spring spacers. But i came across lift spindles for the 1500 but can't find anything for the 2wd for 2500's. First, why is that? and second, can anyone out there tell me if it's possible to retrofit 1500 spindles onto a 2500? Any input is appreciated.

This is probably a dumb question, and it doesn't answer yours, but why are you trying to lift a 4x2? Not hating on you, just asking.

I have a 2091 2500 2wd and I added some 2" spacers and coilovers in the rear. I ended up removing the spacers because they were causing me all sorts of issues. Spindle was hitting and rubbing the lower control arm, New ball joints were popping, and it rode lick complete dog poo. I would buy some springs from a diesel if I were to do it again, will only net you about 1" though, which is enough to clear 33"s nicely.

@h3lzsn1p3r, thank you! much appreciated
but what about the fifth wheel? How would I compensate for that?
and @jasonw, I absolutely LOVE lifted trucks, but I don't have a lot of use for a 4x4 (nor was I able to afford a 4x4 cummins :P ) I got my truck for 2250 in pretty good condition, aside from chipping paint and a rear bed, driver side quarter panel needing replacing. Anyways, I guess my reasoning is I love a lifted truck and I want to lift mine even though it's a 2wd, no matter what criticism I get, haha
if you can help me out though, please do. I love my truck and I don't want to trade or sell it just to get a 4x4 package. I've already put a lot into mine and I don't really want to give that up you know?

2WD is easier task, and some here have done it. Same concept...body lift is an option, suspension lift is another. Depending on amount, you may have to drop pitman arm. and change out shocks. Some have done the front by changing front coils to diesel coils.
Make sure your steering is in good shape as lifting will exaggerate any issues.
But you will not have to worry about clocking T Case!
