valve cover gasket replacement shocker
while I was cleaning under the intake I found a loose vac line. followed it the best I could and it goes from the transfer case (top, driver side) up to the engine bay. it stops right behind the dizzy. (see pics).
I just have no clue where it is supposed to go to from there. I honestly don't have time today to read thru vac line diagrams and stuff so im kinda hoping that someone can save me some time if they know where its supposed to connect to.
wait to you guys see all the crap I gathered from cleaning this engine out. pic of that to come. still got some cleaning and finishing up before I reinstall everything.

my guess. you need a new PCV valve. the PCV valve keeps moisture out. you my not beleave this but you make about a gal of water for each gal of gas you burn. and ALL acids are water base. and keep it as hot as you can. course i dont have to tell you to change the oil. just my idea.
thanks, im guessing its a vent then?
got a new mopar one waiting to go in along with a new hose.
heres some pics that I just uploaded. more to come..

This is the worst I've ever seen on this forum.
I think the thread title should be renamed to: THE TRUE TESTAMENT TO THE AWESOMENESS OF THE DODGE MAGNUM ENGINE.
I think that would be great. You might consider taking it to a shop and having them do a oil flush on it, depending on how deep your pockets are, it might be easier. That is nasty.

op it may be in your interest to do the cap and rotor while its easy to get to
I agree with Dodge Dude. I'd treat it like oil up sand, but that's just me.
Question about one of the pictures:

Is that the condition currently? As the lifter valley is under the rags?
Are you planning on or have you already taken out the lifters and such? I thought I read that you were going to remove the rockers, pull out the rods, etc.?
I hope you are. As mentioned previously, this granulated looking material would also get to the timing chain area since you've found it in every other nook and cranny. Just something further to consider.
