Well i dropped the Dodge off at the guys house that's doing all the work.

He told me that he wouldn't recommend installing the Cloyes Timing Set and them Autolite Plugs i got. So I'm probably going to ship them back to RockAuto.

He builds dodges to drag race, both diesel and gas. He recommended the Mopar double roller one because he installed several Cloyes and he said they didn't last long. I would go ahead and order the Mopar one but it would take too long to get in so he's just getting me another Mopar stock timing chain and putting a tensioner on it.

He's also getting me Champion spark plugs because he said they lasted the best in every Dodge he built.

What do you guys think? Can't wait to get it back though. Won't be driving it for a week.

The Cloyes set has been in so many Ram Magnums it's unreal. Of course the MOPAR racing set would be good for RACING. lol

Yeah I know. I didn't want to argue though because he been doing it all his life. A new stock one with a tensioner is still better than the original stock one though.

Well it's not like it ups performance with a double roller. It just lasts longer and hold up better I'm sure.

and you lose less performance over time.....

I just put the SA Gear on mine.

Personally, I think even a Cloyes double roller would be better than the stock morse style chain.

Yeah that's what I thought too. I won't ship it back yet, I'll see what he says about it when he gets my champion plugs.

Thinking a drag car/truck engine builder will recommend anything besides "racing parts" is like expecting the Republicans to get along with Obama...

I'm thinking we're gonna want some hard proof that the Cloyes is crap compared to OEM + tensioner. lol

Lol I understand you all.

I'll see if he can just go ahead and install it and put a tensioner on it instead of a stock one.
