hey everyone i have a rotor coming in and was wondering how im going to install it with the given space iv been given. do i take apart the intake? any questions and advice would be nice thanks.
I installed mine the *cough* hardway. IE, the way it was designed to be done: with the intake manifold in place. It's possible, just an absolute b1tch. lol
There's a DIY around here somewhere...but the pictures are all dead.
Eh, if you're going to do the plenum, you'll have the intake out anyway, so yeah do the cap and rotor when doing the plenum. But otherwise it's still more work to take out the intake JUST to change the cap and rotor.
Remove the intake for wires, cap, rotor? no sir. I still take off the TB and remove the purge valve when I change the cap and rotor, just makes things ezr even with a M1.
When I did my engine swap a while back, I swapped out the distributor, cap and rotor while the intake was off the motor, but installed in the truck. It gave me the most room to work back there. It's not required to remove the intake to swap out the cap and rotor, however, the job will take a while to perform with the kegger intake in-place. Just have a lot of patience!
