Default Dana 60 1 ton swap into 1/2 ton

Well I have a buddy selling Dana 60 from a 1st gen 1 ton 4:10 for $250. My truck is 98 Ram 1500 with a blown 9.25 so I need something quick. Now my question is will it fit? I have a feeling it will, but I don't know if it is worth my time because I do know that would require changing shock mounts, and I'm sure there is other havoc along with it? I do either need to get my 9.25 rebuilt or install this. The other thing i am skeptical about is that the axle is ATLEAST 20 years old. I mean it is a decent price, but I like to do things right and I think I'm going to have this truck for a while. Thanks anyone for your input.

It is NOT a direct bolt in. As stated, you will need to do some fabrication.

Ah I didn't even think about the ABS, I would like to keep that, although I'm not certain it works. I don't think I'm ready to do all of that fabrication either, the 9.25 from what I hear is pretty strong, and should be able to withstand what I have in store for it.

I think the rear wheel abs on these trucks is pretty much useless.

Shouldn't be hard to find a 9.25 that will bolt right in though.

You say you have 3.55 gears in your sig. I dont think you can have one dif with 3.55 and 4.10 in the other as far as I understand?
