I don't see why you couldn't, that stuff really helps with heat.

I have the gibsons and they are un-wrapped... my engine compartment temps dont seem to high to me. however it doesnt really matter since I have a CAI (performance wise anyway)... I should add that I have no experience with wrapped headers...

i wrapped headers a few times... on my old chevy i got with a 350 (its my street toy.. dont laff at me!) takes a little practice but its really easy after you get the hang of it.. i actually googled or yahooed for instructions and printed them off and practiced it.. but they were plain steel headers with no coating on them... and i had a before and after experience with the wrap and it did make a difference b/c i had a top mounted hat on the carb and it seeemd the throttle response was better after wrapping the headers... not so much more hp gain but just rain better i think... it was weird... i emailed edelbrock to ask and ill let you guys know what i find out....

top mounted hat? meaning an open element air filter? if that's the case, I can definately see that making a difference. the colder the air intake, the more torque and hp across the rpm range...

yea thats what i meant.... open air filter... so yea it cooled the air down in the engine comp... and im about to put on an K&N FIPK GENII kit so i think the cheep easy wrapping might make a difference... but id hate to put he headers on and then take them off to wrap them to see if it makes a difference... i bought a spool of a 100 ft. 1000 steady temp and 1500 intermitent temp... that should do the trick... ill wait to see what edlebrock has to say...

if that's the case, then what I'd do is hold off on wrapping the headers until you get the K&N kit. the k&n kit will isolate the engine compartment heat significantly but not completely. there are gaps in the shielding that need to be closed. I fixed that on mine and it helped out somemore on really hot days.

what is your truck? QC? 4x4? what are you looking for in performance improvements... low end tq?, high end HP?

i got an 01 reg cab short bed 4X4 sport offroad pkg. not sure really what im looking for just wanting to upgrade the truck and see what i get...i know what i dont want to do is lower the mileage that i already have so thats one thing i guess i want is to improve my gas economy. other than that hp and tq are always welcome... got that response from edlebrock... the tech rep SPECIFICALLY said not to wrap these headers... didnt give a reason.. but just said dont do it... assuming is has something to do with the ti-tech coating...well then that answers my question. now i wish i didnt order that 50$ header wrap .. anyone interested? [:@]
yea steve ive seen that gapping on other rams with the k&n kit. im sure i can rig something up.. and maybe get i can use the header wrap for the plastic tubing and line it on the sheilding on the FIPK kit. we'll see... all my stuff is still in the mail so im just hurrying up to wait pretty much...

I have my intake tube wrapped already... it does help. maybe you can use the wrap on your fuel rails? mine are wrapped with thermo tec tape...keeps the fuel from expanding once the rails get heat soaked.
