timing

You cannot adjust/advance/retard the timing on your engine thru the distributor. The PCM controls timing for you now so you have to either buy the software to be able to adjust your timing yourself OR buy a tuner from someone like Hemifever on the forum here. He can write you a tune that will add or subtract timing, fuel pulse and so on.
It ain't like your old points & carb SBC.
Turning the distributor now will change your fuel sync and then you'll have to take it to a Dodge dealer to have it reset or buy a scanner that will read it and set it yourself.

Advancing the ignition timing will give more power to an extent. If you can do it with the Superchips or not I don't know.
There is the "backyard" way. The crank sensor is in the bell housing of the trans. You can remove it, open the hole up and re-install it to advance the timing. You would have to search though as I don't remember which way it needs to move to advance. Basically it'll just send the signal for spark sooner.
