I have a 99 1500 2wd with a 5.2 46re trans. I am looking at putting a 360 in it what will I all need and what would be the best year to swap with. I fond a 94 360 but can look for a better year

It really doesn't matter what year, but to make it easy, find a 99, and grab the PCM and engine wiring harness. Your 5.2 PCM won't control a 5.9 without special tuning, such as Hemifever SCT.

If you got the 1994 engine, you will need to swap your injectors, and all sensors over from your 99 and get the PCM tuned.

 

if I got the pcm out of the 94 also would it work ok.

 

The engine would run, but your instrument cluster, and possibly transmission, would not.

You need a 99+ PCM IIRC, for everything to work properly.

 

A 99 or 00 PCM, in 01 they changed PCMs, a 98.5 should work as well.

 

ok so all I will need is a 99/00 pcm any year 360 as long as I put my sensors on it and the 360 flex plat or is there more

 

Should work. If you have the time, you will want to put your intake manifold off your current engine onto the new engine though, it will have the correct temp sensor locations and won't have EGR or the center divider.
