Harsh shifting when hot
I take you mean the line that goes to the bottom of the radiator, where the check valve is installed.
A quick note for those who would like to replace the check valve line. NADA. Had the local Chrysler dealer try to track one down. Took three days, Chrysler came back with one left at a dealer in Minn. They(Dodge) don't stock them or make them, so the drill looks good to me!

You don't really want to replace the check valve, you want to eliminate it. It's nothing but a potential problem that can get very expensive.
The check valve will be history.
I just got the Borg Warner Gov Sol and was going to stick it in. I noticed the electrical connection keeper was on the other side of the Sol. That means the wires will be installed on the opposite connections from the stock unit. Anyone know if this is okay? I called the distributor and he said no problem. I didn't get a warm and fuzzy feeling with his tone. Felt he didn't have a clue. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey. I'm actually making some headway. Just stopped thinking for awhile. If you just tuned in, this problem vehicle is a 1999 Ram 2500 V-10 with a 47RE tranny. I've accumulated a ton of info and pictures that will coming shortly.
Supposedly not. It (the Gov Sol) fits okay, it's just that the connections are 180 degrees off. Which means I have to unwind the wires. Not a big deal-if it's the correct one. Asked the supplier twice.
But the reason I asked is that I belong to a Diesel forum. And a guy changed out the Gov. Sol to a BW, and ended up shifting worst than before. What I'm thinking is that he installed it exactly the way it came out. I do believe the locking device also sets up the correct flow path for the PCM. I guess we'll find out when I fire it up. A real hard way to learn. I tried contacting Borg Warner with no luck. Maybe if I get a phone number I can haunt them until I get an answer.
On a different note has anyone drilled out the check ball. My question is does the spring come out with it or does one have to go hunting?
By the way-THIS IS GETTING OLD!!!! Lucky we have 3 trucks, I'm thinking 4 would be better!

It has to be wired right, to work right. If the pinout on the connector is wrong, I suspect you have the wrong year parts. (they changed between 99 and 00, I think. only difference I am aware of is the connector pinout.) Although, I think the mounting changed as well in the same time frame......
Well it fits, that's a plus. I'm working the phone trying to find out if it is the right part. Trying to get a real live being is a problem. But I'm holding off buttoning it up until I'm sure. I've burned a lot of tranny fluid already.
Thanks for the input.
