I would consider dropping the pan, and at least having a look at the governor pressure sensor and solenoid. See if it isn't gummed up. (common problem) Also give you a chance to see if there is anything untoward in your pan.... (metal shavings)

Changing the filter sure wouldn't hurt in any event.

Where did the line blow and why? Pressure problem going on...Mine blew at the coupler disconnect by radiator last winter. I drove about 5 blocks when noticed something was wrong. Reconnected and added fluid with no damage to transmission.

do you still have the in-line check valve, anti drain back thing installed? it's in the line by the coil under the hood. if that gets clogged it can cause all this.
