Default 5.2 exhaust

I was wondering if I removed my muffler and just left it open from where it got taken off if there are any cons to doing this. I have EGR removed and opened at the intake and exhaust, so my exhaust is already loud and sounds carbureted when started up first time. I still want to keep my bottom end torque, all of it actually.

EGR is opened up? Could you go into a bit more detail on that?

the tube that connects the exhaust to intake is cut at both ends, so the exhaust has a half inch hole in it and the intake as well (with a filter on the intake so no dirt gets in)

You should plug both ends.

+1. If you want it to sound like a cummins, put a cummins in there.

All year round? Not to mention venting nice, toasty warm exhaust gases at the body of the truck.....

Need to plug that hole. If the egr valve is still in the manifold, and unplugged, that probably isn't too much of an issue. A block off plate for the valve would be best.
