Default big trouble

Ok so I tore my engine down to rebuild and I have it all together and in the truck and it will not run for nothing I have replaced all sensors and it barely runs off a few cylinders. I got new distributor, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, cam shaft sensor, crank sensor, tps, idle air, map, coil. O and its a 94 5.2 magnum 1500, new to me used tranny just installed with the newly rebuilt motor. please help me I got it to fire up pretty well yesterday, but it would die if I touched the throttle now it will barely run off probably 3 to 4 cylinders??????

Are you getting fuel, air, and spark?

yes and I do believe that when im at tdc and im on the compression stroke the rotor points to the #2 on the distributor cap.

Well if it is pointing at the #2 on the dizzy cap you need to either pull the distributor and get it pointing at the #1 on the dizzy cap. At tdc on the compression stroke you should be firing on the #1 cylinder.

Set the engine to TDC remove the distributor cap and see which way is the rotor is pointing. If the rotor is pointed to number one, remove the distributor and move it to number six. You maybe 180 degrees out of timing. But also remember to move the oil pump gear/drive, that's because the oil pump gear is your timing. The distributor doesn't have a gear at the end of the shaft. It looks like a big flat head screwdriver. Also make sure you ignition wire are set with the firing order and to set the timing you may need a scanner to set the sync timing. It may not use a timing light.

Just having everything apart is probably where the issue came from. These trucks are notoriously picky about timing. (fuel sync.)

I know you have been thru this a couple times already... but..... I would pull the drivers valve cover, turn the engine so #1 is in firing position, and reset the distributor. Keep in mind, the tolerance on fuel sync is like +/- 7 degrees... else it runs wonky. (technical term)

Download the 95 Factory service manual from the faq section here. (service manual thread) The procedure for re-installing the disty is in there as well.

so when you say move the oil pump gear? could the gear be positioned against the camshaft wrong?
