im sure this has already been posted, but im having a massive brain fart. i have a 95 2500 360 and i dont know anything about my rear axle. im looking into getting air lockers, so ive tried looking it up.... im getting mixed results, do i have a chrysler 9.25 axle or a dana 60? and because its a daily driver (for now) i dont want to take an axle out to count the splines, is there any other way to tell?
i have, what might be a stupid, question. However, i tried a vin look up and it says my 2500 is a light duty, but i have the 360(5.9).... is this correct and only the v10 and diesel are heavy duty, or is mine the heavy duty as well
Look at the GVW rating on the sticker on the drivers door frame. 8800 pound is HD, anything else, is LD. If you have the LD 2500, you do indeed have the 9.25 rear axle.

shoot.... I had hope you wouldn't say that...... I do have a LD :/ cant find an air locker for it. how about the splines, do I have to count them?
Grab the 95 service manual from the Service manual thread in the faq section, should tell ya what you need to know about spline count, and such, in there.

thanks... I didn't find anything as to how many splines I have.... I still have not found a selectable locker for my rear axle, has anyone tried using a limited slip on the rear and an air locker on the front? as long as my gear ratios are the same this should work, right?
