Default 98 ram 2500 backfiring and running rich

Hey guys I replaced my intake valley pan gasket and the intake plenum gaskets and my cap rotor and wires and now my truck is runnjng like garbage. It idles rough and under acceleration its pops which I assume is it backfiring. Also there is a feint smell of fuel. And when I wiped my finger in the tailpipe there was a bunch of black dust in it. Can anyone help me please

Recheck your firing order, and plug wire routing.

Yep. Some of the 'less expensive' plug wires can crossfire. Which makes the truck run REALLY interesting.

Its' dark out here. Go out, start your truck, open the hood, see if you can see a light show.

Don't touch while its running though. That hurts. (don't ask how I know that.)
