Default Heater fix

Has anyone had the selector not work on there truck. I found the part that's broken and it's hard to explain where it is but it's in the very center on the floor right on the trans hump in the cab. It's a silver vac can with a silver arm going to the door that switches the vents from floor to defrost. Anyone know how to get to this? I tore through the dash trying to get to it so any help is good. Thanks

Parts store should be able to get them. Either that, or the dealer. Or LMC Truck.

The part that's broken is the connection from the arm to the door. Little white round part. I just don't know how to get to it to replace it I couldn't get my hand under to reach it

May have to pull the dash, and remove the heater box from the truck.... (good time to replace heater and evaporator cores as well....) Means evacuating/recharging the ac though.....

The little plastic retainer is probably going to be available only from the dealer..... otherwise, might have to purchase the entire actuator for that one little 3 cent part. Or, see if you can find one in a more accessible location, and grab one at a junkyard.

True. Just time consuming. And those bolts on the firewall are so hard to get to I might be waiting till it warms up a bit so I don't have to freeze. Done enough of that this winter fixing things lol

Yup yup.

Spent yesterday knocking down a HUGE old Oak tree..... 'twas chilly out. And the tree was about four inches from the house.

Oh fun. I've spent more days under my old 1500 and my new 2500 than I've spent inside the past few months. My trans was going on my 1500 and I dropped the pan at least 10 times
