Default torque converter lock up switch?

Anyone ever put one on with a gas engine?

I installed one today and it worked great, until I tried to shut the engine off, it ran u ntill I pulled the jumper wire out, witch is in place of the trans relay,

This is with my 4bt but running the gas pcm and harness, I've installed many of these on diesel trucks but never seen this before, and will not work with the relay installed, it just defaults the trans with the relay installed, the schematics seem to be the same but obviously I'm missing something, (my injection pump is controlled by the gas coil wires)

The trans is a 47re from a 97 ram

The switch is just a driveability thing with many uses, allows for quicker acceleration, being able to lock and hold it in gear, works great for breaking especially with a exhaust brake, makes lower speed/ intown driving much nicer, theres more too

How are you controlling the trans now?

No clue why your engine would stay running because of the trans circuit though....

The trans is being controlled with the pcm and everything works great, except for this switch, witch is a normal install

The next fun piece of info.... I was checking more into it and with the relay jumped and no use of the switch, everythig works fine, but if i use the switch, the engine wont shut down afterwards..... this is wierd, maby i need to find a way to operate the trans relay with the ASD circuit....

What wire do you have the switch plumbed into? and is it providing power, or ground?

i made it work! for what ever reason it was back feeding, but i ran a jumper wire from the ASD relay to power the trans circuit and all is working as it should.... it must be something in my modified harness that is causing it

if any of you want to try one out for fun, here are the instructions for all 94-02 rams ---> http://www.tstproducts.com/Torque%20...p%20Switch.pdf just dont use a lighted switch, only use a normal 2 post switch

i love the lock up switches, gives you a lot of options
