auto to manual?
I'm curious about this also...
From memory, my '98 did not have a manual option for the 5.9... only the 5.2 and 3.9.
The 5.2 and 5.9 flex-plates are different due to the internal/external balance method differing between the two engines.
This should mean a different flywheel is needed, correct.
Having a 5.2 manual, I need to be cognoscente of what is needed should I do a 408 stroker (5.9 block), rather than a 390 stroker from my existing block.

Guy's you need to think 2500 not 1500 trucks. 1500 never came with the 5.9 and a 5 spd whereas the 2500 did. Yes two differant flywheels.

No the 1500 5.2 and a few of those bastard v6s had the nv3500. Which is good trans. That is underrated in how strong it is.
The 2500 gassed v8 5.9 had the nv4500 "light duty"
Most all of the diesels and v10s had had the nv4500 "heavy duty" with a stronger mainshaft and bigger input shaft.
Select 5.9 Cummins HO had the nv5600 6 speed. Such as Jigs. Which has an integrated bellhousing and cannot be mated up to a small block at all.

My build sheet lists "DDC 5-Speed HD Manual Transmission", but not the manufactures NV#.
I notice that Gino's Garage lists NV3500 for all 1500 2wd and 4wd, and a NV3500HD, but he says "not used in the Ram"... I guess that could mean the ratio spec was not used in the Ram.
