Camshaft Info
Hey everyone, Im looking to upgrade the camshaft on my 2000 360 magnum. I have converted it to carb setup. Have 3 inch air gap and hei setup and long tube headers. I know im gonna have to upgrade the springs to handle pretty much anything over stock. I just cant figure out which one to get. Looking for something kinda like a towing or rv cam as in it operates from around 1000 rpm to like 5500 or so. Also was wondering if anyone had some videos of the cam they put in theirs. Im looking towards a 112 lobe seperation but seen a lot of 114 and not sure how it would sound. definitly looking for the chunkier sounding idle without breaking the bank. Thanks for any thoughts or videos. Can be videos on efi setups still too.

Well lets start with that the motor isnt in a 2000 dodge. its going into a 1987. Secondly I am going to use it as my daily driver. I want performance when im playing around with it but im going to see more street time than anything, some track time. It should have a nice lumpy idle with performance but not too much where i dont have enough vacuum for my brakes and need to stand on them at a stop. hoping to make over 300 horsepower around 400 would be really nice. Im also staying with the roller lifter setup.

Don't buy a cam for the sound the engine makes with it. Talk to some hard core cam guys like the ones at Comp Cams and tell them what you want to actually accomplish. If you tell 'em your primary concern is sounding lumpy, they'll want to but probably won't tell you to save the money you would have spent on a cam by just leaving one spark plug wire out.
