What would you suggest for 400-450 HP 408 conversion or anything else?

It tows my Dakota to the strip just fine, a 408 would be over kill for me.
You shouldve sold your RT heads and rockers to me....

Or donated them lol.

You can find third gens all day for 10 grand. 2500 5spds. Whatever you want. A 1500. Even the early 5.7s push 350 something.

They also make a procharger for the Magnums. For $5k you could bolt on an additional 100hp.

Here's a 408 Stroker Short Block that will work. Still need heads, intake, etc...

What all would i need for that block to be complete? This route looks promising

Cam, lifters, push rod, timing chain, heads, intake, throttle or carb, valve covers, distributor, wires, plugs, etc... The whole top end
Most parts can be swapped from the old motor

That would take care of your block and rotating assembly. You would still need cam, timing set, heads, rockers, lifters and pushrods, timing cover, front main seal, oil pump, oil pan, intake manifold, and probably a few more odd and end parts. That short block takes are of your engine block, crankshaft, rods, pistons, rings, bearings, and the block has already been bored out properly so no need to go to a machine shop, which is a benefit. The rest of the parts that you buy depend on your budget and uses for the truck. For a 408, I'd probably go with EQ 2.02 heads, a low duration cam shaft, 1.6 roller rockers, 50-52mm throttle body, M1 intake, and a good custom tune.

Probably not a bad deal there, considering its all forged parts.... Doesn't talk about what kind of dish on the pistons though....... Wonder if you could order one direct from the manufacturer, and specify pistons.......

Edit: Checked it out..... yeah, that is going to be close to 10:1 compression with 64cc heads.... Holy smoke.
