Question Mods for more low-mid range torque

So assuming the 5.9 has 330ft/lbs Torque peak stock, I was wondering what could be done to get another 40-60ft/lbs so its up in the 370-390ish area, and how expensive it would be. The second question would be, how much improvement could I expect to get over a stock 5.9 while spending between 750-1300ish, and what combination of upgrades would that involve?

AND maybe you guys could link me to some other really good read threads on this type of topic!?!

Well I dont plan on ever getting tires above 32inch, and at the time being, the truck is on the stock rims and newish stock-like tires (LOTS of quality tread left)

What year is your truck, and is it 2 or 4 wheel drive?

Combining the cam with the 1.7 rockers should be done with care, personally, I think do one, or the other, not both. Going with full rollers if you change the cam would be a good idea though. (stock ratio please. 1.6)

Keep in mind, with a cam change, your will probably need to replace springs/locks/keepers as well.

How many miles on your truck? Have you addressed the plenum yet? Last time it had a tune-up?

Its an 01, it currently doesnt have an engine as im shopping around for a decent 5.9, was just asking to see what I can do once I obtain one. I'll be sure to address the plenum whenever I get one, or swap to a different intake. It'll be quite tuned up whenever its finished and goes in!

If you are going to go thru it anyway, check local junkyards, and craigslist for a decent core. (if you are anywhere near southern michigan, I have one in the barn I would sell cheap, and even help load.)
