Flexplate question
I have 94 Ram 5.2l with 46RH transmission. It was rebuilt and works great.
I am installing 5.9l from 96 Ram.
Do I keep the 5.9L flexplate (with all the weights) or will I have to install one from the 5.2l ?
There are some balancing weights on the 46RH torque converter.
Thx

Use the flexplate from the 96. The weights on the torque converter are most likely to get a neutral balance......

You're right. I could not find a right pattern to bolt the two together.
However I found a weight on the side of the torque converter.
Stampings on the converter are
J785
2472
8377J
and a sticker with number 544OHS or 644OHS first character is hard to see.
Here are some pictures
So all I would need is a flex plate for 1994 5.9L, right?

That's a balance weight for the converter. I would bet that is neutral balance..... I suspect you are going to need to get a converter for a 5.9 as well. Might call around to the various parts stores\trans shops, and see if someone has one on the shelf that you can have a look at, and compare weights.

Yeah. Part number is
5440HS
http://www.gopnh.com/Automotive-Part...ate%20Model%29
and it is for 3.9 and 5.2, so I will need
http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...3248&ppt=C0338
for 5.9l and all should bolt in
I hope
