Question A/C Compressor Squeaking

If my A/C compressor is squeaking when the truck is running, is that a problem that can be fixed by only changing the A/C compressor clutch, or do I have to replace the whole compressor?

Does the squeak stop when the compressor engages?

The higher the RPM, the louder the squeak. It changes slightly depending on if the ac is on or not. And, also, it's definitely not a belt. Trust me. I've checked. Lol

Doesn't sound like the A/C then...... if it was the clutch, when it engaged, the squeaking should stop. If it was the compressor, when it disengaged, the squeaking should stop.... I would be more inclined to have a look at the idler, or tensioner pulleys.

Okay. I've tried lubing every pulley, one at a time, and when I lube the compressor pulley, it stops. Maybe it's something else though. I'll try it again.

What are you lubing on the pulleys? Not where the belt goes I hope....

I used belt treatment on the belt, and SeaFoam lubricant in the pulley bearings. I used it sparingly, because I was only trying to find the source of the problem.

Take the belt off, and spin pulleys by hand. See what they feel like.
