You, my friend, brought up another problem. I drove my rig to a buddy with a snap-on diagnostic tool. As a favor, he plugged in and tried to help me dial in the fuel sync. But it was all over the place! I was burning myself over this engine and we couldn't set it! She ran WAY worse afterward. I left, limped her home, then borrowed a ride to the pick n pull. I grabbed the plugs from both sides of the cam sensor, created a pigtail plug-in between the harness and the distributor with alligator clamps for my voltmeter. I dialed it in(with the engine off, turning the crank till I got a signal at I think 17 degrees?), as best I could. That's what I'm running now....

 

Is the distributor installed properly? Plug wires indexed to the correct spot on the cap? How is your timing chain?

 

LOL, I'm sorry bro, its just I remember guys having problems with tuning these engines properly without a gd expensive scan tool! But it sounds like you have it pretty close, so idk, good luck
