Injector ticking

Default Injector ticking

97 5.9l got a ticking sound that is always there ...When I listen to the injectors with stethoscope they are pretty loud..Put it on vavle covers hear some lifter tick no way as loud as injectors...Now another problem is going down the road I start to get a stumble or cutting back ....Are injectors suppose to be loud ?

Yes injectors make a fairly loud ticking noise. That's one of the reasons most manufacturers put pads under the hood and plastic covers over the engine. They help absorb a lot of the injector ticking. That ticking is the injector opening and closing to allow fuel into the cylinder.

Ok any idea why I'm getting a miss or stuttering at driving speeds ..Best I can say is if I'm going down the road and I push the overdrive button to off the truck starts almost like missing ...

Could be a number of things. How are your plugs, wires cap and rotor? When's the last time a tune up was done? Has the plenum been fixed?

How are your plugs/wires/cap/rotor? Has the plenum been fixed? How old are the O2 sensors?

Plugs ,wires,cap,rotor new...Plenum not sure, there is a small amount of oil residue in throttle body..But what's​. Weird to me if you turn o/d button off it really acts up but no irractic RPM movement... Could bad Plenum make it do this...I'm changing O2 sensor this weekend

Well don't know if gasket has been replaced but the factory metal Plenum plate is still there....
