Default Running lights only work with wiper fuse pulled

like the title says my parking lights kept blowing the fuse and I changed the switch and pulled the wiper fuse beside the dash and now all lights work and no blown fuse. The wipers weren't working before I pulled the fuse and obviously not now either, could this be a short In the wiper motors or wiring going to it?

I just bought this truck like this so I don't know how long it's been like this I just pray it's not the bcm

Unplug the electrical connectors from the wiper motor. Reinstall fuse, turn on lights. Does fuse blow? If it does, then you have a short somewhere. If it doesn't, replace the wiper motor.

But why would it be causing the parking light fuse to blow and where can I find the wiper motor

That is a very good question, and at the moment, I don't have an answer. I don't *think* those two circuits have much in common, but, apparently, they have something.... You can grab a service manual for your truck from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W. have a look, and maybe something obvious will present itself.

Wiper motor is cleverly concealed underneath the grille at the base of the windshield. Yeah, fun to get to.....

So update the lights worked for a little and the fuse still ended up blowing, when I turned the interior light wheel on the switch the lights shut off but the fuse didn't blow. I don't know what happened but they did start working again and on my way home the fuse did blow. Is there any information anybody need that could help narrow this down

Is there a chance this could be my cluster? Because when I got the lights on the backlight for the switch came on but my dash lights did not. I've read other threads that say the gauge or bcm causes all this.

Would I be able to repair the bcm myself or is that dealer only territory?

Pull the cluster bezel, and have a long, hard look at the headlight switch. They are know to cause some interesting problems.

Wonder if the wiper motor isn't a problem at all, and it was just coincidence.....

You need to pull out the headlight switch as well, and inspect the wiring.
