Yeah, pull the fan, shroud, and radiator, then just lift the motor a bit, pull it forward enough to disengage from the trans, and then straight up. Letting the air out of the front tires to lower the front of the truck makes life a little easier as well.

From what I've read on the Dakota R/T Forums, the Keggar mod is a complete waste of time.

Basically, all it does is move the power band up a couple hundred RPM.

I was going to do it to my 98 2500 for towing for just that reason, but I found a 2001 24 valve with 97K on it.

I cut my runners the same as you are planning on cutting yours. Works fine, but may not be worth the time. I have an unmodified intake and sometimes I think about putting it on the truck as some times i'd like a little more low end torque.

You can pull the motor with the AC condensor in place, just pull the fan, shroud, radiator, and hood.

I'd like to keep my low end, so idk. I've read up and many like it, and others don't. I'd rather keep my low end, though I do tow often, I'm not sure how much it would help. And it is also a tedious job. I may look at instead getting a 50mm tb and if I have the money some 1.7 roller rockers instead. As well as some shorty headers. What would you guys think would be the best way to go? A

If you are considering taller tires, please consider differential gearing. I'm running 285/75/16 tires with 3.55 gearing and the truck is snail slow from a dead stop. I'm planning to install 4.10 gearing soon in both the front and rear differentials and that will make a huge difference in off the line performance.
