My truck still backfires and now is having problems going up hills,what would b the next thing to tackle O2 sensors

Verify you have the firing order correct. (I checked mine three times before I finally got it right. Working back in there is just a pain.)

If that doesn't help, simply unplug the front O2 sensor, and go for a drive. If it runs better, replace the sensor.

If that doesn't help, physically remove the front O2 sensor from the exhaust, and go for a drive. See how it acts.

Oh i did the triple check on the wires,i figured it's the sensors

Would upping to 89 octane help,i have almost 300,000 miles on it

Nope. I rather doubt its an octane issue. Low fuel pressure maybe..... or clogged cat...

I was thinking a goofy fuel line,i put another new fuel pump in 2 weeks ago.i had a supposedly new one in 2 months ago and that went out.i'm going to get the OEM O2 sensors.

NTK or Denso Sensors please. Both work good. You can get 'em cheap on Rock Auto.
