Transgo is definitely good, as is sealed power. For the trans kit, check out the viper series of kits at transmissioncenter.net. If you are going to rebuild it, might just as well improve it. Right?
I wouldn't mind upgrading some issues that they had. My main focus is on rebuilding the transmission first. The only reason I parked it was because the transmission went. Lost all motion forward and backward, 4 wheel drive. The engine was still running decent. I don't remember knocks or other noise. My thought was the engine is out, its high mileage, maybe rebuild it then.
I have the transfer case out, if I spin the shaft that connects the transmission, I would see the drive shaft connection turn?
I rotated the transmission side when I got home, both shafts did spin. I don't know if I mentioned it, the transfer case was already out of the truck. If things go decently, this Saturday my 95 engine and transmission will be out. Maybe some prep on the 97 with disconnect. Things are moving along. Will have details about how things go. Hopefully my experience can help someone else too.
