Default 98Ram 1500 turns but won't start.

I stopped my truck in a parking lot abruptly and it died it will not restart. All the gauges go up and down while making a clicking grinding noises. there is a single tone also sounding somewhere under the dash. Even the tones that normally sound when putting the key in are not working all the time if I move the shifter up and down once in awhile I will hear a normal tone. I also do not here the usual energizing noise I guess it is of the fuel pump when the key is put in and turned but I'm not sure if that's due to something else being out. I can pull a couple fuses from under the hood and the tone that I can barely hear from under the hood stops. Any help with this issue would be greatly appreciated I have no idea what to do. this is never happened before

They battery and its connections are the usual suspects and check for corrosion.

Yes the engine is turning.
and like I said, when I release the key all the gauges slowly go down and there is a beep under the dash. Then they jurk back up and slowly go down again. There is also a continuus tone under the dash but it's very low, and van be heard under the hood and barely from under the truck.

Does the engine turn over normally? Or is it really slow? Low batteries can create some rather intriguing symptoms.....

So what's missing? Spark, or fuel. Easy to check for spark..... see if it's there.
