So really late update but maybe it will help someone, since I was shotgunning sensors I decided to pick up an ecs sensor, installed it and started running fine and idling normal, put it in gear and it didn’t stall out! Drove it around the block a few times just fine and came back, I remembered one of the symptoms before where it wouldn’t start back up after shutting off, so I did just that and she didn’t start back up. The next day it started up fine and I left it running for maybe 10 min and came back to check it, no engine temp readings. I had read from some other research to try the engine coolant temp sensor, so I had previously bought one and it just sat in the box. Before I installed it, I did a gauge check, eng off, press the odo reset and turn key to run while holding the reset for 15 or however many seconds it was, all the gauges started the test and moved including the engine temp. So I threw that sensor in and runs perfect, shuts down and restarts anytime, all is good. Been daily driving it for the past week to feel out any more issues, but smooth sailing so far! Cheers y’all and thanks for all your help!

That may not seem like it but that's a critical sensor. Bad design in my opinion. Glad you got it running!

That is also a critical sensor lol. Engine coolant temp sensor also plays a part in starting

Well I had almost a month of use out of it, truck went down again, I was leaving base so maybe 5mph and right outside the barricades I noticed I couldn’t really hear the exhaust, pressed the gas a bit and almost nothing in terms of power/sound and it sounded wooshy if that’s a term. I pulled into a nearest parking spot and the idle was a bit speratic/crackly which I noticed a bit earlier but with no side effects. Finally pulled codes and popped P0118 (code reader listed engine coolant temperature sensor circuit high voltage) and P0441(evaporative emission system incorrect purge flow). I’ve had a suspicion that the catalytic converter was an issue earlier but the truck was doing great after all the said above replaced parts. Could this still be a cat issue? And if so could it also be a plenum issue that made the cat go bad?

If you are getting bad readings from the coolant temp sensor, then engine will run like crap. Need to address that first.

I’ll be reading out the harness with a mm as soon as I can find some schematics, I got access to chitlins but only at work

Go here and download the service manual for your year. Wiring is in section 8W

Hi guys trying to bump this thread again, just got back from a deployment and ready to work on the truck again, it started back up after sitting for 8+ months but is still running weak, won’t drive at all. I borrowed a cheap Autel reader and it’s not popping any codes, still playing around with the system monitoring and got this... I know as above it was recommended to double check the coolant temp sensor/harness for it so I’ll be doing that, just wondering if there are some other possibilities

Think I would remove the O2 sensors from the exhaust, and see if it drives better.
