Default 5.9 Fuel Rail

1996 Ram 1500 Sport
5.9 Gas engine
163,000 miles

The Fuel Rail crossover hose popped a hole(right at the end of the barbed fitting) and is now leaking, luckily I caught it before I burned my truck down.
The fuel rail is a part # 53030373, everything that I am finding, says that the crossover hose is non-replaceable.
So I called my local dealer and was told by the parts guy that this Fuel Rail is for 1996 only and has been discontinued
and none are available.
Called the local salvage yards and not found one.
So at this point I have no other option but to try and replace the crossover hose.

Can anyone recommend a Good/ Safe fix for this.
I did go to Autozone and purchased a section of fuel injection rated hose (100 psi w.p.)and some clamps
but I am not sure that is the best/safest fix.
Any Thoughts ?

Not sure if clamps will be adequate to the task. Post a pic of the connector where the fuel line connects to the rail. I may have one in the barn that will work.

You should be able to replace the hose, but be careful. The fuel rails themselves are fairly light gauge metal and are easy to tweak. Just FYI, most other year 5.2/5.9 fuel rails will fit that motor just fine.

At some point, the changed the way the line connected to the rail, earlier lines were female, later lines were male, or some such...... I think.....

There are no connectors, this is the crossover hose and is apparently shrink fit nylon.

One of the local salvage yards did say that they had a fuel rail for a 97 - 5.9
$75 for the rail and injectors.

Well I was able to install the fuel hose and the hose clamps that I had purchased
( 2 clamps per side ) and I triple checked for leaks and have none.
I sure hope that this fix last's, of course I am going to check the clamps periodically.

I have owned this truck sense August of 1999, that's 19 years come August,
I guess you could say that I really like this truck.

Thank You, to those that replied .

We love pictures, thanks for sharing. I think your fix will be fine, I probably would of done the same thing. You could check on a rail from a different year yet if you really don't trust it.

I would really like to get some of the original style Nylon fuel line and repair it right, but I haven't found any 1/4" Nylon fuel line yet.
