Default Oil Pressure, but no Oil pressure gauge.

Hello I have a 99 Dodge ram 1500 Mag.v8 Just swapped out the motor with a re-manufactured motor, at first the temp. would shoot to H, but the motor was not hot (had oil pressure gauge read normal then) swapped sensors and gauge was normal but now no oil pressure gauge, swapped 2 oil pressure sensors checked pressure manually, reads good but no gauge in cluster. Any advice appreciated thank you!

My best guess is you didn't get all the grounds reattached. That or they need to be cleaned.

Ignition on, short the pins on the OPS connector together. Does the gauge move? Do all your other gauges work? You can download a service manual from here, wiring diagrams are in section 8W.

Time to plug in to the PCM, and see if IT has a clue what oil pressure is.

Verify continuity on the signal return wire back to the pcm for the oil pressure sensor.
