If you get technical it does add in hour because more aerodynamics means less power loss to propel the vehicle 😂

One could just plumb all the vacuum accessories into a 12v vacuum pump. Could get one off of a diesel pickup in a junk yard even. Then you would always have vacuum for your accessories.

For the most part it is vacuum leaks that are the issue, so it doesn’t matter what the vacuum source is, if there’s a leak.
Fix the leak(s).

I had wild wacky vents and fixed it with the check valve Dorman 47170. The Dodge dealer actually looked up that Dorman part number for me when I went to them to get the OEM part. They wanted like $25 for it and it was special order. They told me to go to any auto parts store and get the Dorman part. I think it was under $5.00. I bought 2 but I can only find a use for one. (I thought there was another one somewhere but I think I was wrong)

My plenum was leaking bad. I was using tons of oil. The check valve fixed it even with the very leaky plenum. Later I fixed the plenum but the check valve was the cause of the wacky vents.

Before adding the vacuum reservoir did your cruise control work? Could you shift into 4 wheel drive? Have you replaced the checkvalve? When I pulled my old check valve out, I could blow through it easily in either direction. (in fact you could see daylight through it) Mine was where it had a "T" near the back of the valve cover on the passenger side of the vehicle.

Should be two check valves, One just coming out of the intake and the other up by the vac reservoir. You can get them at napa also.

Default Thanks

Thanks I found the second check valve. It was in better shape than the one off the intake. I replaced it and my vents switch faster than before. They were working but there was like a 1 second delay before replacing the one to the firewall.

Thanks again!

Did you get the updated check valve? It should be bigger then an old film canister
