No power to the coil I unplugged the connector from the bottom of it and tested the connector at both pins and no power; I did get power to one of the injectors, though I did not test them all.

I tested it with the keys in the on position and also had my son crank the engine while I tested the connector to the coil for power did it twice same results.

Verify you are getting power TO the ASD relay. Should have power on two pins with ignition on. Pin 30 is the main power feed, that the relay switches. 85 or 86 will be power for the control circuit. (much smaller wire.)

I have done that before and got 12 volts at pin 30 don't remember if I checked 85 0r 86, also, I checked the relay and swapped it with a similar one I put my finger on the relay and could hear it click. I will try again though it never hurts to double check, many times people fail to do that and overlook simple stuff.

Check continuity between the relay, and the coil as well. If everything is doing what its supposed to, but, you still aren't seeing power there.... may just be a bad wire.

I'm gonna try that as soon as I can, work has kept me plenty busy and lost of OT. So I'm assuming I should check for continuity at the relay plug in going to the coil and use the connector at the coil as the other end? Thanks for the help again. Oh, I just remembered when I got the truck months ago I installed a new ignition switch as the old one was punched from when the truck was stolen. Tried to start it then and noticed that the ignition run fuse was blown. I assumed it was likely from the theft and the thief monkeying with the ignition switch. Could it be a short that is causing the problem in that? Although I did replace the fuse after the new ignition and I've not had it blow since and I have attempted to start it several times.

The blown fuse probably was a result of the theft.

I don't have a good wiring diagram for the truck but I have a Haynes manual which isn't too bad for mechanical but the wiring diagrams are generic in nature and not vehicle specific. I am going to search the internet for a diagram this evening at work and print it out. I screwed around with the underhood fuses and relays today despite it and found a ground in one of the pins for the ASD relay and two others I tested as well on other relays. Is this normal for a relay to have a ground? I know It wasn't the one that provides power to the relays. Also I noticed that where the positive cable splits off and connects to the under hood fuse box, it gets power when I check it with a test light. However, When I test the negative cable where it connects to the under hood fuse box, it also gets power according to the test light. I checked that negative cable for ground at the box and it does not have it. Is this normal? I should think not but I'm asking because you never know I guess. Like I said my weak point is in vehicle electrical. Any suggestions? Thanks again I keep saying it but I do appreciate your time.

Just download a factory service manual from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W.

Depends on where you are putting your probes for the test light. You WILL see power at various grounds, because some stuff is always on, (always has power) and electricity will take the path of least resistance. So, if you have your clip from the test light on the battery negative terminal, yep, that's the easiest path to ground.
