Default Cranks, no start

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 with a 5.2 engine that will not start. It cranks but will not run. I have had it run on starting fluid and it ran rough. I got the truck free after it had some damage from being stolen. it came with some spare parts that were new in the box so I went thru and installed them as they were areas where these trucks have trouble.(and I had all these parts new in the box free) So far I've replaced the ignition coil, crankshaft sensor, Throttle position sensor, Intake air temp sensor, as I had new ones anyway. I tested the truck for fuel pressure today and it is getting pressure at the factory specs so the fuel pump works and I can hear it come on.. I turned the keys to the on position and decided to test the injectors for power, as it runs on starting fluid only. I noticed when I checked one of the connectors, that there was no power according to my test light and a second test with a multimeter. What could be the issue causing this? The truck sat for a year and a half before I got it. Any answers would be appreciated, this is my firs Dodge truck and the price was right, FREE! LOL!

Injectors will only have power for about three seconds after key-on, unless the PCM sees the engine turning.

Since you are getting spark, and have fuel pressure, my guess is, you aren't getting injector pulse. Check the cam position sensor, make sure it is plugged in, and not broken. (it's under the distributor cap, parts store call it a 'pick-up coil', even though it has nothing to do with ignition.)

Also, what brand was the crank position sensor? Some of them don't work out of the box.

I did not know that, I cannot remember at this point. I took the crankshaft sensor out of the box about a month ago and installed it and then threw away the packaging. I do know that it was bought from 1aauto.com.

I will check the camshaft sensor hopefully on Monday, between work schedule and the weather (I'm working outside in my driveway, and it has been stormy weather) I will get to it eventually. Thanks

2000 Dodge ram 1500 4x4 5.9L. i am having a similar issue. i will be driving it and it just shuts off. NO check engine light, no codes saved, etc. after being off for about 5 min it'll start back up and drive no problem. so far i've changed the fuel system relay and the coil. i'm to the point where i think its either the fuel pump going out or pcm. Could it be the cam position sensor or crankshaft position sensor? also had a NO BUS light on in the odometer.....??????
Help please

Did you put in some fresh gas?

I don't remember what the no bus light means. HeyYou or someone will remember. Maybe type it in the search bar or look in the DIY section.

No bus usually means PCM is bad or losing communication
