With crank dot up, and cam dot down, cylinder 6 will be in firing position.

If you haven't moved the distributor, then fuel sync *should* still be good. Assuming it was good before chain replacement.

Ok. It won't prevent it from running properly?

A video I watched showed the camshaft dot (the pulley on top) to face down and the crankshaft dot (pulley on bottom) to face up so that they face each other. Is that not correct?

That is indeed correct, but, it puts number 6 in firing position, not 1.

The thing is, i don't have an interlock device and am wondering y i have a single wire running from the steering column to the ignition coil.

I guess I could check the resistance on the coil.
I'm not sure what that would have been used for unless it was something to do with a tach that was in there. Never installed one one before. My wire goes under the dash right above my feet.
Also, just to clarify on the interlock power supply (without turning this into an interlock lesson), the power supply has to be from a source that shows when the engine is running. Not sure where they tried tapping into the first two times when it was having issues. I found the ordeal kind of interesting since these trucks are known for being picky and sometimes problematic with electrical issues.

I think i would get rid of the wire though and don't touch it going down the road lol

Well then I'd think the timing was right...

Default Iac

"The IAC is adjustable. You pull the spring retainer sleeve down and rotate the pintle to the proper length. Releasing the retainer sleeve allows the flat edge of the spring end to reengage the notched pintle. I don't know the factory spec to adjust to, however... but I did read in the service manual that you are NOT supposed to adjust the idle screw that sets the throttle body idle position."

Is there a way to adjust the iac?

For thing like IAC, and tps, the computer needs to learn their zero values. Basically, you disconnect the battery for 15 minutes or so, so the PCM forgets everything it knew, then, hook everything back up, turn the ignition to "on" (not start) count to ten, THEN start the truck. That gives the PCM a chance to see what idle TPS voltage is going to be, and it runs the IAC pintle in all the way, so it knows where its at now.
