Aftermarket kits don't work at all. Can't find the factory brake bracket. Stock Dana 80 (low pinion). If you were referring to driveshaft brakes, don't need them.

I meant the mounting plate on the rear axle. Just make a new plate and weld the plate to the axle. Bolt the stock disk brackets to the plates. You can run 03 3/4 ton calipers/mounting brackets and 3rd gen rotors. A cheap way to get larger brakes, using factory pieces. I ran the 3rd brakes on several 2nd gen trucks. Sorry I never took any pictures of my build. I bet you could install 4th gen brakes/rotors on a 2nd 3/4 ton truck, I never tried but I'm sure it would work.

Not welding a bracket that could break to the axle. Eventually I'll run into a D80 disc or find a way

I think I see some fender carving in your future. Whether you are willing or not.

I'm putting it on a body lift to fit the 44s or 47s (unsure yet) but yeah I'll carve those fenders out so it doesn't hit when flexing the rears already made the bed "curve" to them

Default Testing out some more Frame Coatings

Just got this sample kit in the mail. We will see if it survives on my truck frame. The onlooker one to survive so far is Chassis Saver.

Default KBS 3 Step Frame Coating

Here is a it looked like before:

Here is after the 1st of 3 coats (3mil each):
Note: KBS says you can apply this over rusty metal if you knock off the loose rust, instead of using their 3 step system. If you look at that black thin crossmember (skid plate crossmember) from that on I just wire brushed it, to see how well it will work

Default Final Frame Coat and Update on the Steering Kit

I put the 3rd coat on today. Did have done runs, but uts hard doing it with the cab on. It was brushed on (can't tell looks sprayed). When I pull the cab and everything off I will sandblast it or electrolysis it.

Also have an update on the steering kit if anyone is interested.

I used that stuff last year or so ago. I cut off the rusted out outer lower part of my lower front fender and treated the inner remaining part of the fender. I'm waiting to invest in a welder to put the new skin (patch panel) over that part. I did as directions said and already have rust coming through. I also treated lower seams o both doors. I'm not sure how those are going to hold up but it doesn't look promising. I removed my rear bumper and also treated the back side of it. Time will tell on that and it seams to be the most promising piece I did. I didn't see the Blast part of the kit doing really anything. Not impressed so far. I hope you get better results. I got some Ospho and plan on sanding out old and trying again on the body. I don't think lI would have as many issues if I could park the truck and do it "right". Daily driving while doing body work sucks lol.
