merry christmas guys...
Tried the website you said, got this message:
We're Sorry, it appears you don't qualify for High Speed Internet
Your prequalification came back No for....
Its kinda depressing lol. Probably gonna end up with wireless internet because my sister has to have something faster for her online classes in college.

Iffin you are handy with electronics you could build a cantenna which would help "aid" you in "borrowing" high speed from a neighbor and use a wireless router as a hub which would allow you to bump the signal back up before it gets to your computer. Just an idea.
I actually live in Galveston County. There is normal wired highspeed in all of the streets near us, it just seems that my street got caught in some contract dispute and cant be serviced. I'm not sure of anyone on my street with wireless. My cousin across our pasture has a plug in type wireless modem that he uses, but thats a whole nother creature.
Trey do you have a laptop with wireless connectivity? If you do have a friend drive around your neighborhood with you in the passenger seat with your laptop and pull over every couple hundred feet and search for networks. Then find the strongest signal nearest you and save it to your laptop. Then get a wireless router and set it up as a wireless hub and connect an antenna to it that you can run outside in a clear unobstructed area. The better the antenna the better reception. Then you should be able to connect to someones network. Just make sure that the network isn't protected and you should be fine. I am going to add a disclaimer that if you get caught you can in fact get in trouble so this is merely for educational purposes.lol. You could piggyback off of your cousin with an external setup like I mentioned if he doesn't mind depending how far away he is and how much money you want to spend in order to get a faster connection.
No laptop here, but I could probably get a friend's. I've heard of that method before, but I'm just doubting the people in my neighborhood have wireless networks setup. I'm gonna try calling Comcast monday and relay the information about how there are no companies servicing my street now, as they have ran lines for my friends in the past. I was just so pissed from how many calls and how long I spent on the phone the other day trying to get the little information I got. I'm glad those little companies dont service my street because all their customer support has been outsourced to India and I can hardly understand them lol.
