Factory 7 wire trailer plug

Default Factory 7 wire trailer plug




Look to see where I might be able to find the oem plug in 7 wire factory trailer harness just had to swap my hitch out and my plug is junk too

I picked one up at the hardware store...... I just changed out the plug itself though, not the wiring.

Ok wasnt sure if complete assembly was available somwhere so i could just plug it in and go also need to find a controller and proper wiring to plug into ruck as my mechanic says it has factory trailer wiring

There should be a four wire connector under the dash somewhere, (there's a pic in the service manual, get one from here.) assuming your truck came with the tow package.

The dealer may actually be able to get you the plug, with the harnesses....... Of course, they will want a pretty penny for it.

I already have the 4 wire I saved it from my last truck it's plug it simple to tail light harness

Would love to see a photo of what you are talking about here - does the 4th gen connector have the 7 pin setup (like the 2nd gen) and a 4 pin setup with it?

The four pin connector I am referring to is for the trailer brake controller. It's under the dash somewhere.

I had to do the same thing - the 7 pin connector I had went bad and I noticed that the 7 pin connector is a standard trailer connector available most anywhere, even at WalMart. It's very easy to wire, especially since you have the original connector to use as a guide.

Yea was just hoping for a simpler option as this one been on truck since 95 and all the screws and everything is rusted and just gone to crap
