Ecm replacement
2001, running extremely rich, 5 mpg rich. New cap rotor plugs wires coil and injectors. Haven’t replaced the distributor itself, timing without the trucks computer control is at 1 degree advance as close as I could get to 0 when going through everything. Full exhaust system with cat and sensors, factory intake manifold with Hughes kit and a cold air. Any other info needed haha
Dealer needs to flash the PCM with the correct VIN for the truck, else things like ABS, and SRS, will whine about it.
Moving the distributor doesn't change ignition timing, it changes injector timing. If you are too far off with that, it will run absolutely terrible. Need a scan tool to properly set it. (fuel sync.) (have the dealer do it while you are having the PCM flashed.....)
Have you checked your plenum yet? (see the stickied thread at the top of this forum.)

Well the replacement came out of a 98 5.9l, was told it was a pre death flash update but I was hoping someone had a code list for the update and what numbers I should be looking for
According to theory, there is only like 4 horsepower, and 20lbs of torque different..... (though, people have spent a couple hundred bucks to GAIN that kind of power....) Best bet is to just get an aftermarket tuner, and call it a day. Make sure you flash the PCM to the correct VIN first though.

It was pretty standard.
