Solenoid service and upgrade kit installation
I have most of the job done but have two left over parts. 3-4 spring was broken.
Is there any reason not to reuse the old wiring harness? To avoid dropping the valve body. Is 30 inch lbs the right torque for the T25 fasteners? Filter torque? Lock up spring and the boost spring retainer have me wondering. Where do they go?
One (1) Governor Pressure Solenoid (Borg-Warner Heavy Duty) Upgrade
One (1) Governor Pressure Sensor (Transducer) 56028196A
One (1) Output Speed Sensor (With O-Ring) 4800879
One (1) 3-4 Accumulator Spring (.126 Upgrade)
One (1) Transmission Filter
One (1) Pan Gasket (Duraprene)
One (1) Governor Solenoid Body Gasket
One (1) Lock-up Spring (Heavy Duty) Upgrade
One (1) Boost Valve Spring Retainer (Sonnax) Upgraded Unbreakable
One (1) Lock-up & Overdrive Solenoid with Harness
Could someone please point me to a diagram? One (1) Governor Pressure Sensor (Transducer) 56028196A

Aim for squirrels did and outstanding job.
Is the boost spring and clip a necessity? I see that the clips fail. Aim for squirrels tear down answered almost all my questions. Muchas gracias.
The service manual doesn't tell me if the wiring harnesses have different values.

what a solenoid upgrade won't cure
A seriously worn transmission. Did the band adjustment. On the front band, after backing it back 2 7/8 turns the head was flush with the nut. No od, and the switch seems to work. Got to fix the fritzed DLC to get codes.
Perhaps first I should have adjusted the bands first despite the shifting problems to have better assessed the condition of the transmission. Yes there was metal in the pan and no indication that it had been opened before.

put a new dlc housing in and can now easily get codes. It now shifts well 1 2 an3 no O.D. but I get a p 0748 code. The harness did not click tight with the new parts installed. I do have it good and snug.
Will the new borg warner governor pressure solenoid trigger a cel because of different values??

First ohm out the solenoid? Are the solenoids powered with 12 volts? If I powered the lock up and overdrive solenoids would I be able to hear them click? I can power up the solenoids removed and listen to them as a starter. I would like to be able to limp it thru the winter and have the replacement as a spring project, or perhaps find a core and build it.
I replaced the boost spring retainer by rotating the valve body. I have a tiny flat ratchet that holds torx bits that got me into it.Not removing the V.B. A fish scale and math got the tightening to 35 inch lbs. 12 lbs at 3 ''. Could the arm to the overdrive be out of place?

ecm
cleaned up the ecm connections and got rid of 2 codes. Cleaned grounds, and connectors. Still have the p0748
I'm going to go to the pick and pull to score a 46re from the same year and build that while I use the truck.
At this point I do not have low or od. If I start in drive it will down shift to 2nd, but can't find first. The adjustment bolt on the front band is level with the locking nut.
Most of the photos I have seen see it standing proud.
