Went out and checked for any kind of pulse at the injectors - nothing

Then the engine isn't getting fuel. You have a wiring issue (can check that with a cheap multimeter), cam sensor, or PCM

Changed out the crank position sensor today - didn’t solve the problem though - should I be getting voltage to the sensor plug with the key on ? I am not

I am unsure of that would have to look at the diagrams

Yes, Should see five or eight volts on one of the wires.

Nothing .... the other sensors around the manifold are putting out voltage but neither the crank position sensor or injectors are

Check the wiring to the crank sensor. Most of those sensors draw power from the same place....

Injectors only see power for about 3 seconds at initial key on, after that, only if the PCM sees the engine turning. (via the crank sensor...... )
