Default 1997 ram 1500 cluster/ exterior lights

So I noticed two weeks ago my whole cluster, tail, headlight won’t work while in gear and moving.
alternator, battery good and new. Put new battery cables and clamps.

now I noticed this weekend with it running while parked if I turn my wheel to the right cluster stops working and head and tail light completely shut off. But if I turn the wheel to the right it all come back alive.
has anybody ran into this? Is it a cluster, wire issue or the computer??
this issue is making me hold off on tires. So I need this done ASAP.

It could be one of two problem. Bad connection on the cluster or a bad central timing module. Do you have power door locks with a remote?

no power lock remote. If you want too shoot me a message with an email and I can send a video over that shows what it’s doing.

I don't think the CTM does much in the 97s..... More likely you have a wiring issue in the column, or nearby.

Grab the service manual for your truck from here. Wiring diagrams are in section 8W. have a look at what commonalities you have with the lights that are failing, and see if they have anything in common in the wiring. If you have an issue in the column, I suspect it will be obvious.

Thank you for that. Helps out a ton.
I literary just found my headlight switch has a burnt wire on the connector plug. So I might start with that. Sucks that plug is 50 bucks lol but maybe that’s one of the problems but hopefully that’s the issue lol

That's gonna be at least part of it. I would replace the headlight switch as well.

The switch it self looked fine so I might try the plug first and see if that helps at all. Is there a write up on some sort of hd setup or is that kinda risky and possibly burn up more things?
