00 rear brakes drums question

That's all I did. Just scrub them good and lightly stick them in. One of the cylinders I pushed to hard and it broke the seal so be careful. When you mount the shoes, you will have to compress the pins but make sure they fit nicely into the notches. Once the springs are all back on, tap the shoes, pins, and spring seats to "settle" the tension with a ballpeen.

soo i got some questions and i borrowing a cell phone to take some pics to send i got some questions as i been struggling
i went to get a 2nd box of rear brake shoes.,. the clip that goes on that pin for the adjuster.. wouldnt slide on so 2nd box the clip would slide on but wont slide on the other sides brake pin.. pin that holdes the plate for the brake adjuster where the notchs sit against it.. so i figure ill file it a lite so it will slide in and lock in .. before i was trying to hammer the plate to get it in the grove
2nd question.. when i get the cell.. i think i struggling i think because the emerg brake cable broke long ago. i think the emeg brake is siezed on in both sides.. i cant not get this damn brake assembled.. and i think the emeg is pressed out
3rd question do i really need the emerg brake cable.. i was thinking un hooking and pulling it out.. how serious is it to need it..; have had the truck several years but never used it.. do i really need to fix it as i was going to pull it out
4th question it has a brake splitter welded to the shaft of the rear end.. i tryed to use bolt extractors to get take off the 2 brake line fittings so i can put new ones on i made.. but they slipping its always like they crimped in there or so.. question is can it be removed or are they crimped in there and i have to buy a new one? its a metal splitter with a rubber line can i buy this from a parts store or is it a dealer thing
i never getting this truck fixed lol
frigin pandemic.. as now i gotta fix the drivers front flex line its leaking under the rubber part soon ill have new brakes front back new copper line from front to the back.. and then new lines rear left and right ... on an old truck but its still ok shape low kms just the body is sucking lol

Replace both front brake lines if one is leaking.
For the rear, the block that acts as a splitter is held in place by the fitting for the vent line in that axle tube. I do believe it's part of the soft line, so, replace that one as well.
I'll need to see pics for the other stuff, to make sure we are talking about the same things.

ya i cut the lines off and used bolt head remover but couldnt get off.. do you cut off the vent line?
here the pics and the last couple pics shows the thin metal i was talking about if i can replace it do i need it its like dirt protector.. also you see how the metal clip doesnt fully lock in the pin it did for the one.. so i figure id file the clip to so it will lock i.. 2 set of brakes i picked up 1 set neither clip would slide in.. the 2nd set of brake shoes it only went on the one pin.. so i dunno file it or use brand new hard ware kit as i picked up both hard ware kits the springs and the one with the adjuster in it

Might wanna try and find some new backing plates, those are pretty crusty.
Also, get a hardware kit for your rear brakes, it comes with new springs, nails, and other hardware. (makes life a lot easier than dealing with the old crusty stuff too.)
As for the vent line, it looks like there is a crimped clamp on it, so, cut off the clamp, and the hose will pull off. (with some effort....) The tube that the vent lines goes onto holds that metal block in place, which is part of the rear soft line. Replace the soft line. Then you don't need to worry about getting the rusted out lines off either. (and the line is pretty cheap.)

ya i have both Hardware kits.. new springs one and new other kit with the adjuster etc
new backing plates u can buy new? and let me guess from waht i an see you gotta pull the drive shafts out to change the plate?
so u want me to cut the rubber hose off.. then that metal blow should slide out off the shaft then so when you buy a new splitter it comes with the hole in it so you put it back down with the rubber brake line in it?
bot this gonna get costly.. u wanna send me new front fenders and a cab and box canadian weeather we use too much salt so frame still good basiclly just damn it rusts fast lol
and what about the emeg brake i cant seem to get the brakes on the pass side it seems to be locked is it? as i cant get get it far enough that little Tit holding it back trying to do the brake... and can you send a link what that part look like for the spliter that goes over the vent
