my carquest location cant order some parts well cuz i cant get the right numbers when i googled..
i ordered
H38576 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 8 Cyl 5.2L - Brake Line, Rear, Center
it says its not for a 2000 dodge ram 1500 from that carparts.com you sent me too.. but was for a 3500

i tried to google the Vent Tube thing and the Plastic breather but they couldnt order they get no listing but when i googled igave a dorman number it was for a ford but they can get it they cant get a listing though
frustrating is it because this truck too old no one has listings or parts or no one took parts serious back then or just a dealer thing?

Yer right, I missed those.

I think the plates are usable. But, you DO need to clear that vent line, good chance that is indeed why the seal is leaking.

so i got the part off but i got problems i couldnt get a socket on.. and i tried vice grips. and then i sawed the tip off the vent and used a socket remover and it didnt work.. i tried twising the brake block to unscrew it.. well its off but it sheered off.. now i dont know what to do or how you get it out? i guess these must be all orginal parts or we use salt so bad in canada its ruined it... so i not sure how to get that part out frig i wish i tackled this in the summer with heat ... you figure one little brake job turns into nothing but one problem after another

WD-40 won't help you, you need something like PB Blaster, or Kroil freeze off, etc. Heat likely would help as well. At this point, you might be able to drill it out, but, that's gonna leave crap in the axle tube. Easy out?

WD40 is just a water displacing (hence the "WD") lubricant, it does nothing for rust. Worst case, a 50/50 mix of acetone, and trans fluid, works great.

Yep, the acetone will evaporate, but, not before it does a number on some of the rust. It also helps the trans fluid penetrate deeper into the rusty threads.
