Default Water pump

Anyone got any tips when changing the water pump? Or any recommendations for the wrench needs to take fan clutch off?

Wrench you can find at auto parts stores. Can also use two big wrenches. I think I used a pipe wrench the first time.

Pumps are really easy but be sure to seal it properly. The bypass tube is the biggest issue. Don't install it until the pump is on. Then screw in the bolt with just a little thread left to hook the tube. Put a fat bead of RTV on the tube and gently insert it while hooking to the bolt. Then tighten the bolt. DO NOT insert the tube all the way without hooking it to the bolt.

Let everything dry and put coolant back in.

If you've got an air hammer hit the top of the hex with a chisel. Works amazingly well. Search YT for vids

15mm 10mm 13mm, 14mm, and I use air hammer for fan one quick ugga and it breaks free, and that should be good tool wise

gravy job just remove the alternator and ac compressor as 1 with bracket and then fan/shroud and it’s right there…less than hour job

And then folks get to do most of the job again, to change the little bypass hose.

Many years ago after having done a 5.9 gasser WP I still had the pump in my scrap bin...I made myself a spanner wrench and machined a 36mm plate wrench. Sometimes having fab ability and being a machinist by trade is a curse LOL

The pin spanner is 22" long and apparently I determined CL spacing at 1.800"

edit: I've used 'em a couple times and they're extremely effective!

I know the curse well… especially when you can buy one for $35 (seen as low as $16).
