so what do i do about the alternator wiring, fuel pump and all the other stuff if im pulling the wiring out. How is the carb gonna get fuel. What about the throttle cable.

it cant be as simple as just putting a different intake on attaching a carb, and putting a pressure switch. I can believe it would be that simple

You will need to power the fuel pump, however, gotta remember that your current pump is good for about 60 PSI or so.... That will make your carb REALLY unhappy. (it'll blow the float right open, and flood you out right quick.) So, couple options, either one is going to require a regulator with a return line. First is to just wire the current pump to a circuit that is hot when the key is in run, or start. This will require a regulator that will tolerate a high input pressure.... Option 2 would be to change the pump out for something else, either a TBI in-tank pump, or, just bypass the in-tank pump completely, and plumb a low pressure pump into the fuel line. (I would still use a regulator. will need one with the TBI pump in any event, as it puts out about 17 PSI.)

For the alternator, just use an external regulator. End of problem.

The throttle cable may work just fine with a carb, just have to have the right fitting on the carb for it.

The rest of the wiring you are yanking is just related to fuel injection stuff, which you won't have any more. Bear in mind though, that your cruise control won't work any more, as that is also controlled by the PCM. There is no easy fix for that....

I haven't tired this but I'm sure your RE transmission will work as normal using a carb. You can re-use your sensors that are used with the stock dodge EFI like your tps sensor, crank sensor, map sensor, trans TV feed back cable, temp sensor. You will also need to change your distributor to the old style, I would use a HEI style distributor or just find a 46RH transmission, no computer required. My 85 corvette uses a TC lock-up switch for the 700R trans. You have to unlock the converter or the engine will stall. You could rig up a hoobs pressure switch so that it only TC engages in high gear (use the OD pressure port on the transmission) at the rear of the casing.

FYI -Holley makes a EFI system that works with any engine and the 46RE transmission.

To be it seems to be alot of work for just a small amount of power increase doing a cam swap, really you should upgrade the engine to a hemi/ls way easier to make decent power.
